Lemon Squeezy fee questions.

How much does Lemon Squeezy charge?

5% + 50¢ per transaction, calculated on the total the customer pays including tax. Surcharges add 1.5% for payments from outside the US, 1.5% for PayPal and 0.5% for subscriptions.

What does a Lemon Squeezy subscription cost in fees?

A $20 monthly subscription paid with a non-US card costs 5% + 1.5% + 0.5% + 50¢, which is $1.90 a month, or 9.5% of the price.

Does Lemon Squeezy charge extra for international payments?

Yes, 1.5% on payments from outside the US, on top of the 5% + 50¢ base fee.

What are Lemon Squeezy's payout fees?

Bank payouts through Stripe are free to US accounts and cost 1% to accounts outside the US. PayPal payouts cost 50¢ in the US and 3% (capped at $30) elsewhere.

Does Lemon Squeezy refund its fee on refunds?

No. The platform fee is kept on refunded orders, and a dispute costs $15.

Is Lemon Squeezy still available after the Stripe acquisition?

Yes. Stripe bought Lemon Squeezy in 2024, and in January 2026 Lemon Squeezy called Stripe Managed Payments its future, with a migration path for merchants. It still publishes its own pricing and accepts sales.

Is Lemon Squeezy cheaper than Stripe?

No, but it does more. Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ in the US and leaves sales tax to you. Lemon Squeezy is a merchant of record that handles tax for you, which Stripe only matches with Managed Payments at 3.5% extra.
